Delta Community Community College announced on Monday that it would close its campuses due to a lack of funds.
The community college’s president, Jeff Davis, announced the decision in a letter to students, faculty and staff.
Delta is located in a community of more than 7,000 people in north Alabama.
Delta was one of three Alabama public universities that reported a $1.2 million budget deficit in fiscal year 2017.
The school said that its 2018 budget was $1,869,000 less than anticipated, and it would be $1 million short of its 2018-19 goal for an $11 million increase in academic services.
Delta has been trying to find additional funding to meet its 2018 goal.
The college announced on Friday that it was also going to close its other facilities, including a cafeteria and a dance studio.
